With this course module the course participant gets an overview of the most important components and their functions within the automation technology. Based on practical examples, these are explained. The following questions are addressed: What is a PLC? What is an HMI, switchboard? What is meant by the SCADA system? Profibus and Profinet? Industrial networks? Inverter? Servo technology? What is robotics suitable for and what is behind SIL 1, 2, 3 and 4?
Who is interested in industrial automation, for example: buyer, sales representative, project manager, process and system designer, production manager or project manager.
Little previous knowledge in electrical engineering.
